Mr. Fricke has drawn extensive experience from a lengthy career in the southern Illinois construction industry.
Mr. Fricke’s career began as a welder after receiving instruction in welding and metallurgy at John A. Logan College in 1976. Mr. Fricke quickly rose through the ranks, transitioning from welder, concrete finisher, ironworker, foreman, and supervisor for several large contractors.
His project management, organizational skills and motivation quickly separated him from the crowd and he was promoted to General Manager with Constructor’s of Mid-America (CMA) in 1985. By 1988, during a restructuring in which CMA became Lin-Con Inc., Mr. Fricke was promoted to VP of Operations, eventually becoming President of the company in 1993.
In 2003, Nancy Fricke incorporated the AFL-CIO affiliated, Samron Midwest Contracting Inc. with the intention of becoming the premier concrete contractor in southern Illinois.
Mr. Fricke helped launch Samron into an already competitive market and was immediately met with project successes. Even through economic downturns, Samron has been fortunate to experience phenomenal growth. Over a relatively short time span, Samron was able to successfully take over two well respected area concrete contractors adding to their ability to serve an even larger area of Southern Illinois.
As a testament to Mr. Fricke’s foresight, Samron is now, without a doubt, the premier concrete contractor in southern Illinois operating out of a 23,000 sq. ft., state of the art facility, employing 75+ employees and utilizing a well-maintained, second to none, fleet of equipment. The company growth has allowed a natural transition to include general contracting capabilities for heavy industry clients, as well. Samron has completed projects in excess of $5 million.
Contributing to the success of Samron is that Mr. Fricke remains “hands on” in every aspect of operations within the company.
