Samron was originally incorporated as a commercial concrete sub-contractor in March of 2003. The success and growth of Samron (with nearly 75 employees) has allowed for the natural transition from, not only, a commercial concrete sub-contractor but, also, a heavy industry general contractor. Our state of the art office/warehouse facilities, experienced staff and well-maintained fleet of heavy equipment have proven capacity of handling construction projects with budgets in excess of $5.5 million.
Here are a few of Samron's completed projects:
- Samron was contracted by Southern Coal Handling for their Vermillion Grove Coal Transfer Terminal project near Danville, Illinois. This project included a rotary rail car dumper along with a complete material handling system. The project was brought in at a budget of just under $2 million.
- As a general contractor, Samron was commissioned to install a new limestone blending facility for the Southern Illinois Power Co-operative power plant facility at Lake of Egypt, Illinois. The project included a new hopper feeder and complete material handling system to blend gypsum by-product with coal.
- Samron recently completed a large expansion project for Kinder Morgan’s Cora Dock Coal Handling facility. Initially over budget, Samron assisted the owner to come up with value engineered solutions that helped to make the project a reality. After completion of the concrete foundation package, Samron was enlisted to provide steel erection and mechanical installation services for the project. The project was brought in safely, on schedule, and within the owner’s budget.
